Green America is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to harnessing the economic power of consumers, investors and businesses to promote social justice and environmental sustainability. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), with more than 2 million members and supporters, is the largest animal rights organization in the world. PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry. We also work on a variety of other issues, including the cruel killing of beavers, birds and other “pests,” and the abuse of backyard dogs. Campaign for Safe Cosmetics The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is a national coalition of nonprofit health and environmental organizations. Our collective goal is to protect the health of consumers and workers by requiring the personal care products industry to phase out the use of chemicals linked to cancer, birth defects and other serious health concerns, and replace them with safer alternatives. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is working with endorsing organizations, responsible businesses and thousands of citizen activists to shift the cosmetics market toward safer products and to advocate for smarter laws that protect our health from toxic chemicals and encourage innovation of safer alternatives.

Green Products Alliance is a consortium of manufacturers and marketers who make and sell extraordinarily natural personal care products. We are looking to network with companies who believe that socially responsible business practices can help to create a sustainable economy and ecosystem. Member companies work together to lower raw material, marketing, advertising and public relations costs through co-operative projects and group buying power. Membership is free. The purpose of Think 2100 is to assist the socially responsible consumer. It is apparent that our current habits are not sustainable. They choose products primarily on the basis of quality and price, but sticker price does not reflect the true cost of what we buy. But given the proliferation of environmental labels and claims companies are making to sell products, many consumers are confused about which of these claims are trustworthy. Think 2100 sets clear standards for environmentally and socially responsible products, finding merchants that sell these qualified products, and listing them on a single site for consumers to compare. They do research that most well-intentioned consumers do not have the time to do and are paid by the merchants they select for the sales and traffic that they generate for them.
